Last time I was in Germany I knew a guy with a Mercedes diesel.
He had two batteries. One in the car and one int he house on
a charger. He used the one in the car to warm the engine
(glow plugs and whatever else a Mercedes had) and then he would
spaw them to start and drive the car. Don't know what he did
if he had to park it far from home for any length of time. And
it was not nearly as cold there as it is here. Of course, I
would never own a Mercedes so for me it was all academic. :-)
