There's nothing strange about a small team with massive amounts of work
to do making the free version of their product something less than top
priority. Some time after v8.5 and v9.0 are out and the licenses for the
x86_64 field test kits are about to expire, then VSI really needs to
start their own hobbyist program if they want one to exist.
Now if some reseller volunteered to administer the program and could get
approval from VSI to do so, then I suppose it could happen faster.
