Yes.

Yes. The idea is not new. In fact that was one of NetScapes
ideas back in the mid 90's.

I don't think node runs on Rhino or the newer Nashorn.

C++, already running on Windows and number of *nixes, already
running on multiple CPU ISA, limited OS access need.

I have not looked at the code. But it does not sound that
difficult.

I have no idea if there is a business case.
