Quite right!  Even Macro-32 could provide that.

Cobol, as with other languages, is aimed at certain problems, and how to easily 
solve them.  Fortran is aimed at number crunching, but, it can still be used for 
string handling, but not as easily done.  Basic is more a jack of all trades, 
expert of none.
