MRU works with FC tape libraries. I have designed and built several 
clusters using MRU to control MSL4048 libraries, with several 
generations of LTO drives, preferably drives with two FC connectors for 
best availability.

The robot in the MSL is reached via the FC connected tape drives. The 
robot should appear as a $2$GGA<nnn> device and the tape drives as 
$2$MGA<nnn> devices. The unit numbers are established when the library 
and drives are hooked up to VMS with SYSMAN "IO FIND_WWID" and "IO 
CREATE_WWID" commands. The information is held in SYS$DEVICES.DAT.

The latest MRU kit that I know of is ROBOTE02018 for HPE OpenVMS V8.4 on 
Alpha and Integrity. It's a VMSINSTAL kit, not PCSI.
