How did you create the ISO file?  Did you use Joliet (and joliet-long)
and Rockridge extensions?  Or at least full-iso9660-filenames?

If you don't, the filename will be in 8.3 format.

(I'm looking at the man page of genisoimage on Linux.)

Once extracted from the ISO, can't you just rename it?

I'm not criticizing, just curious.
