In case you missed it Richard, I was talking about the CMEXEC privilege
being redundant, not the $CMEXEC system service; they are not the same
thing.

BTW, shooting the messenger doesn't change the message which needs
to be delivered. VMS has some good things, it has some bad things
and it has some things which were once good but have gone bad over
time as the surrounding environment has changed.

Yes, it can be annoying to have people who care enough to come along
and pierce the bubble that exists around these things by talking about
those issues. It's far better however than suddenly being blindsided by
some major issue later down the road when something dramatic happens
or when the existing limitations become very dramatically clear to
everyone.

It is far better to talk about these issues now even when it disturbs
the existing bubble (ie: the VMS is the most secure operating system on
the planet stuff. That kind of thinking is very dangerous and ultimately
insecure over time.)
