Can you list the quirks? Are they something that can be fixed in the
EDT mode source?

I never used EDT much. I had a 66 line terminal and 48 line terminals
in the VMS 3.x days, so I used TECO for the full screen windowing display.

And then I started using TPU in EDT keypad mode as the EVE keypad mode
did not seem to be designed for any VT series keyboard that I have ever
seen.

On the DecSYSTEM-10 site I was at, someone introduced the University of
Arizona SOS. The system management initially tried to discourage it
because was not installed shared and was a high use image, and every one
needed a private copy.

This SOS while not having macros was much easier to use on the new video
terminals than TECO was. This was before VT terminals.

After about a month or so, no one was still using the Dec supplied SOS
anymore, and system management gave in and officially installed U of A
SOS as the default SOS editor and told everyone to get rid of their
private copies.

The SOS supplied with VAX/VMS 3.x was a significant downgrade from U of
A SOS. It was easier to use TECO window mode on a VT terminal.
