The difference would be people's capability to adapt.
For example, I "know" what an inch is. I have to think of what a mm is,
and then convert 25.4 into an inch. Without lots of conversion, I am
unable to work in the metric system of measurement, and most often just
avoid it. dumb metric system doesn't even have anything equivalent to a
foot.
