No, it is not. You are using some terminal emulator connected
to the console port, not? (I could not imagine anyone having an
old VTxxx terminal today, if not purely for historical reasons).
Just enter CRE SOMEFILE.COM and hit enter.
Then cut-n-paste from the license mail whatever you need.
Press ctrl-Z when ready.
You now have a command file ready to be run as usual.
