Not used any i6 yet. But we migrated our production systems from i2 to
i4 last year and the difference has been impressive. Twice the number
of cores, faster CPU clock... Combined with 3PAR solid state storage,
the best VMS engine I ever worked on. Some workloads have seen their
total elapsed time divided by two. We encountered no issue with the
migration at all. Mount the new blades in free enclosure slots,
shutdown the old systems, disconnect the network and FC cables,
reconnect to new machines, reboot (the system disks are on the SAN).
One hour downtime and the upgrade was done...
