But is continuing with TECO in its current state viable ?

TECO on Alpha appears to be a translated image (whether partially
or fully I don't know).

Itanium is also a translated image as I understand it and wasn't
it translated from the translated for Alpha TECO ?

What will be the basis for x86-64 TECO ? Will it be built from
source or will it also be translated from Alpha ?

Didn't someone complain about the instability of TECO on Itanium
due to these multiple levels of translation ?

Will x86-64 TECO suffer from the same problems ?

Simon.
