I agree. It is different in that the expertise required to get at those services and use them is very dumbed down

One can provision a server with very little knowledge of the underlining structures that make it happen

With AWS you can even use someone else's image build if you want and simply use what they have already done, so you don't have to with with the core components of you don't want to

If one wants to simply computing we can just say it's input processing output, but in reality, we have added higher and higher orders of functionally around those base core fundamentals to enable us to reach greater heights, same with cloud based services that are available today, they are still input processing and output but structured in such a way that their synergy is vastly improved over historical offerings
