How much of your preferred workstation is anything other than something 
that the keyboard, mouse / trackball / etc., monitor, speakers, and 
possibly other USB devices accessories plug into?

What would you say if there was a possibility that you could have the 
same peripherals connected to a GUI dumb terminal, and you had the same 
(or better) performance as you have now?

Now what if that pending memory upgrade was as simple as a VDI config 
change and a reboot, if the reboot was even necessary.

That sounds to me like what I describe as devices used to consume things.

The workstation above is decidedly a production device.

Yes and no.

You need a device to connect things to.  But nothing states what form 
factor it must take or what peripherals must be used.
