Where are you seeing that?

I've always seen IA64 (Intel Architecture 64) to be Itanium.

x86-64 or x64 has been what I've seen for generic 64-bit x86 family CPUs.

I also see AMD-64 as a specific reference to AMD's 64-bit x86 
implementation.  (Which as I understand it is the first 64-bit 
implementation in the x86 family.)

But IA64 has always been Itanium to me.
