That's a good point.

On the rare occasion I need to use custom optimise flags for a program,
instead of just using the default optimise levels, I am usually optimising
for size because it's something which is going onto an embedded board and
I am tight on storage space.

I can't recall the last time I needed to use custom optimise flags while
building programs on VMS.

Thanks to John and Clair for the examples. They are rather interesting.
