Well, you don't _have_ to use the laptop HID. One common use case I've seen
is that people use a laptop as their primary machine, but hooked up to a
docking station. So when they are at their desk, they use a full size monitor
(24" ... 30" or whatever), a proper keyboard and whatever mouse/trackball
they prefer. Going to a meeting? Disconnect from docking station, grab
laptop, reconnect when you come back.

Well, increasingly it is a chromebook instead of a laptop. Those are fully
interchangeable. Chromebook died/lost/stolen/malfunctions? Grab another
one, log in, done and you've got your setup back.
