If you are referring to the 1GB restriction in the VS3100/30 and 
VS3100/40, then sorta.

The 1GB restriction comes into play when using the console to read/write 
the disk.  This occurs when booting and when writing the dump file.

So, if you don't have a local system disk, the 1GB restriction doesn't 
affect you (as long as you are running VMS 5.4-3 or later).

PS: I don't think you can even have a local page/swap file that crosses 
the 1GB boundary, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
