nokeypad mode works just fine.  :-)  and I plan to
put a version of EMACS and probably VI on my system.
May even put ed so I have a simple line editor for
the periodic fast editing job.

Even when I  had real DEC terminals I never mastered
EDT/LSE/TPU.  It's easier to stick with what I know
rather than waste a lot of time learning something
like yet another editor.
