And y'all will probably find some broken path-parsing DCL code with 
concealed, rooted logical names.
For best problem-finding effect here, also use the <.>  syntax in place 
of [.] syntax.
OpenVMS itself got that filename parsing wrong within the PCSI utility, 
among various other tools.
This as the OpenVMS path-parsing APIs are most charitably referred to 
as "inadequate".
