Wirth went from Algol W to Pascal to Modula-2 to Oberon.

But neither Modula-2 nor Oberon caught on.

(I always thought that Modula-2 had great potential, but
the world went curly braces)

And Pascal still see some usage. VMS Pascal. Delphi on Windows.
Open source Lazarus/FPC is alive.

Probably less usage than COBOL, but about the same as FORTRAN.
