I think that is a very good idea indeed.
Since people will have to learn a new option name anyway they may
just as well use the same option name as everyone else does on
other operating systems instead of some artificial made-up DCL
qualifier that only has meaning on VMS.
Printing out the underlying command will help them with that and
using the same option name as everyone else uses will help when
it comes to looking online for help on the option in question.
BTW, this isn't the first time I've seen this, IIRC. Didn't RSTS/E
DCL have some option to print out the underlying CCL command when
processing a user's DCL command ?
