f$getsyi("CHARACTER_EMULATED") returns false, implying the virtual machine does
support the newer string instructions. The FreeAXP web site says you can configure
the virtual machine as either EV4, EV5 or EV6, but I don't see anything to set
that in the configuration utility. Also, the configuration utility lets you
launch the emulator, creating a freeaxp process, but there doesn't appear to be
a way to stop it (other than task manager) when you are done playing with it.

I'd be tempted to purchase the product if the units were about half of what they were charging.
