[Info-vax] Oracle Database vs Oracle/Rdb

As for DTL and the original question, migrating from Oracle Rdb to 
Oracle Classic is—as Hein commented—just this side of porting off of 
OpenVMS.

Particularly given coding practices and norms within what is typically 
found with older OpenVMS apps.

If that's the explicit or implicit goal here, I'd probably go for ODBC 
or related accessing a database else-server from the OpenVMS boxes, and 
get rolling on the rest of the port off of OpenVMS.

This as an incremental step in the migration.

Wither the longer-term migration/port/transition then goes from OpenVMS 
to Linux native or to Windows Server native, or to the third-party 
OpenVMS API emulation, or otherwise...?
