Use "xmodmap -pke > key.map" to create a key map file.

Use "xev" to see what keycodes the keys that don't work send.

Edit the key.map, season to taste.

Use "xmodmap -< key.map" to reload. (Note that stalls any open terminal
window for about 10 seconds on my system.)

You may also need the following command:

xmodmap -e "keysym BackSpace = Delete" -e "keysym Delete = BackSpace"

Depending on your desktop, some keys may be global shortcuts and will
get hijacked along the way.
