Latent bugs have been a very common source of run-time problems,
whether for native apps or for translated apps.

Translation seldom corrects latent bugs, can expose latent bugs, and
can make bugs harder to troubleshoot.

More than a few of the apps built with older compilers or with older
standards or with permissive compilation options can be less than
stable.
