The MicroVAX 3100 Model 98 was the last, and in my opinion the best of 
the series.  The last N-VAX CPU, a tower enclosure, giving more room for 
components.  I don't need one, but I'd sure like to have one.

Nothing wrong with emulation, but this system really doesn't need any 
more performance, for what it would usually be used for.

Still the same old dismal 50 pin SCSI bus, but, for 30 years ago, or so, 
a rather nice system.

If DEC hadn't been intent on selling Alphas at the expense of VAX, I 
feel they could have sold this system and follow-on systems for many 
years, perhaps even today.  Not everyone needs more performance than 
this system provided.
