Back in the day, you could purchase source listings from HP.

No, that's it.  Lenny now works for Redhat.

If you are writing a virtual or class driver, that book would describe enough
of the VMS driver model and I/O executive to get you most of the way there, if
not all the way.

For a port driver, it would be a bit trickier, because there would likely be 
platform-specific issues to deal with.  I'm sort of handwaving a bit here, 
because I don't work on any port drivers, but in overhearing
discussions from colleagues, I suspect it would be somewhat of an adventure.
