You haven't been very forthcoming about the details of what you're
doing, so I'm making some guesses.

Are you doing the work in-house, or using a service via the internet to
obtain the data?

We are using a service via internet for address validation which also
returns geo location I believe. Communications are via HTTPS, though
why anyone demands the "S" for data that is freely available is a bit of
a mystery to me.

To do so, we use a "relay" on WEENDOZE that accepts requests from a VMS
task, and then does the HTTPS communication, returning the result to the
VMS task.

If you wonder about the use of the relay, look no further than the
rather poor TCP/IP and OpenSSL available from HP.
