Hard to say, looks like the last step is the hardest since lots of little
issues are now ganging up together to snarl the last step. Plus a 'Heisenbug'
or two, such as setting/clearing certain messages suddenly makes it crash before
DCL, provoked by a change in who knows what. But DCL can do much of its built-in
stuff, things like SHOW TIME, SET PROMPT, X := Y, SHOW SYMBOL, as long as they
don't try to activate an image or otherwise touch the file system. But $ DIRECTORY
isn't one of them... :-)
