My question was why using a f$integer, f$string, f$cvtime is so simple
in DCL and why I don't find at the same time something similar and
simple from compiled programs.
"At the same time" means VMS 5.5-h4 . The demonstration I have to do
must be for VAX/VMS and C which are a little bit old.
(And no, impossible to do any migration, the deal is maintening
somewhere knowledge on a platform where not any change is possible; VMS
5.5-h4 has to be there for 10 years at least from now)
... And so also thanks to Stephen Hoffman also, good references, I'll
use them on my training just to help attendees keep full of hope, but
not for the demonstration itself.
Thanks,
Gérard Calliet
