I used VWS on a VAXstation II back in the VMS V4/V5 days. VWS was much
more responsive compared to DECwindows because it used way less resources.
The big advantage of DECwindows vs. VWS is that you can redirect the
display to a different workstation, or even from a server to a
workstation. VWS was a local-only solution.
