My Apple 17" Powerbook (circa 2001-2002) still functions albeit, I have long
since given up on replacing its battery . I purchased an HP Envy 17" (17.3
IIRC) laptop and it gave up the ghost about two years after I'd purchased it.
It was NOT cheap in contrast with other laptops but it failed nonetheless as
quickly.
