FDIV bug, as one example. Intel took a pre-tax charge of half a billion USD (1995 USD, roughly 850M today). Led to the introduction of patchable microcode and the disclosure of most of the "Appendix H" secrets. Also led to the decision to publish for general consumption (as opposed to OEM-confidential) detailed errata for Intel products.
More recently, Atom C2000 bug (2016).
