I don't care if golf courses close; I do care if VMS disappears.

But there is no alternative, and the investment is repaid quickly.

Remember the "if operating systems were airlines"?  :-)

No-one thinks that airlines will disappear for lack of young pilots.  
VMS IS ALREADY DISAPPEARING IN SOME PLACES BECAUSE PEOPLE SAY THAT THEY 
CAN'T HIRE ENOUGH YOUNG PEOPLE.  That is a FACT.  Misplaced comparisons 
do not help at all.
