I don't know much about DECnet at the wire level.
Assuming that it is pretty efficient, then it sounds likely
that it is more efficient than TCP. But I find it hard to believe
that it more efficient than UDP.
It is an interesting idea though.
I suspect that the biggest problem will be tools and
libraries.
