It can be any bootable disk. In our case the downloaded image from VSI
has been copied to a disk on the FC connected IBM SAN. So we never
use any local disk (either hard disk or CD/DVD) on the system. And
the same volume/disk with the VSI media can be booted from all three
systems (but not at the same time, of course).

And yes, sorry for my too quick post about clusters. I'll be more
carefull in the future...
