Well, if I needed an answer on this, I'd go directly to VSI. Perhaps
that would require VSI support.

Hans mentioned that HPe VMS and VSI VMS can be clustered on Alpha and
itanic. I don't know, but if this is currently possible, then one
should be able to do a rolling upgrade to VSI VMS on those platforms.
One would then think that if you're totally on VSI VMS, inclusion of x86
VMS in that cluster might work.

However, what's wrong with doing a fresh install. Contrary to your
claims, it is just not that much more work. Say you're running ODS2
disks. That is still supported. Any non-system disks are not an issue.
Anything on system disks not part of VMS can be easily copied. One
would hope that you've not intermingled non-VMS data and VMS files in
the same directories. Your custom command procedures, after a good
vetting, could then be used on the new cluster.

One thing a fresh install will do is hopefully get rid of any issues
that have crept into your systems over many years. Based upon past
posts by you it seems likely that such has occurred.
