The assumption is correct. I have a reasonable stock of RZ26/28/29, I just need bigger right now!

I did try that a few years ago. In my VS4090 I have a few 68-pin disks with adapters and they're fine. I've never managed to get an adapter working with an SCA-80 disk ... and those are the bigger ones.
