An investment in migrating RMS indexed files from a word to a longword
seems unlikely to substantially postpone our reaching the limitations
of the current design.
This also given we're (hopefully) migrating from the longword logical
block addresses (2 TiB limit) to longer will be disruptive, and given
we're using other databases for many apps.
Maybe once we're past 2 TiB and headed for exabyte-scale volumes, RMS
indexed updates will be interesting.
Or maybe we'll be using some other database or other (new) RMS
key-value file format support then.
GFS+ or otherwise, and Rdb or SQLite or otherwise.
