.NET is the OpenVMS calling standard a couple of decades on, and .NET 
is widely available, so that perception hardly surprising.

There've been previous newsgroup discussions around porting .NET core 
to OpenVMS.

I remain skeptical that the addition of .NET support will be a 
particular draw for folks to choose and use OpenVMS. This too as the 
older OpenVMS support for Microsoft COM/DCOM/OLE didn't see a 
substantial uptake.
