That is of course a potential complication.

But if we look at various IP issues:

copyright - no (unless the manual is actually copied and used for the 
new product)

patent - no

trademark - no (at least if different name is used)

trade secrets - maybe but I doubt it - what would the specific trade 
secrets be?
