In fact the cache battery was just replaced last weekend; we found that while trying to diagnose the problem.   I can't find any documentation anywhere that indicates the enclosure alarm light comes on for reasons other than an issue with or in the enclosure or its accessories; a cache battery on the controller?

Can't find any docs that say that doesn't happen either though.  The alert did not clear after the battery was replaced, or since, after it charged and the MSA commands showed the cache has been re-enabled.  The enclosure was NOT power cycled, though the Integrity box was.
