Yes, that does happens over here also. In particular if the owner
want the money to go straigh into his own pockets. But those usually
will not stay in business for long.
There is no other real reason today to only accept cash than tax evasion.
But yes, different countries also have different development levels.
Some still uses "cheques" as payment. Not seen one in 20 years and the
banks has high fees to clear one today, in the $10 range per cheque.
