The biggest advantage to VM's for VMS users at this point is
going to be the fix it offers for the rapidly changing hardware
world in the x86-64 world.  What could be worse than having your
hardware die and needing weeks to find a new piece of hardware
that supports your OS?  VM will make that a non-problem or at
least, someone else's problem.
