Any ideas how to accomplish this online?

I'm trying to hot swap replace a failing JBOD disk on an RX2660 that uses the LSISAS1068 on-board RAID controller.

{yes, I know the P400 or the P800 would be a better controller choice.
We *now* ship P400's in later RX2660 configurations we designed).

I identified and pulled the failing disk (OS unmounted) with OpenVMS running
and then inserted the replacement larger SAS drive.

I can "see" the larger 300GB replacement drive with SAS$UTIL, but using
MCR SYSMAN IO AUTOCONFIGURE or an OS reboot doesn't get the replacement disk recognize by OpenVMS.

n.b. I can accomplish this "hot" on an SA6402 or a P400, but those are the MSA$UTIL family controllers which have a richer online command set and maybe better driver support too.

Any ideas how to accomplish this online?
