[Info-vax] ES47 2G FC and rx2800 i4 8G FC in same VMS Cluster with Shadowsets on shared storage controller? Is this possible?

Realistically, third party vendors are going to start their migration in '21, assuming that's ever going to happen. And if you have in house code to port, it's a long time to wait before starting.

Maybe the reliability and performance of the existing systems are an issue, and there is a budget to fix it. "We are going to fix it in two years time, with a product that doesn't exist yet" may not be an acceptable answer.

Itanics will be a significant upgrade for most VMS users. If one needs
it today, then obtain it today.

I'm not into high end SANs and fibre stuff. I don't know what kind of
money is involved, nor whether any investment will be usable in the x86
world. These can possibly be significant issues. Well, for me anyway.

But David Turner has plenty of itanics, so he tells us, and at a really
good price. So why not upgrade now?

As for porting, it can vary from language to language. For Basic, it's
pretty much compile, link, test, and go. Probably the largest effort
will be testing. I'd expect the same for x86 VMS.
