[Info-vax] 300GB 872475-B21 V/I64 8.3-1H1 detection thru LSISAS1068 RX2660 controller?

HPE  P/N 872475-B21  - 300GB SAS 12G ENT 10K SFF(2.5)SC 

Any ideas why this SAS disk drive is detected by the RX2660 LSISAS1068 controller but is flagged as “offline” by OpenVMS/I64 V8.3-1H1 w/patches?
Reboot was performed after drive install to maximize O/S opportunity for device
Recognition.

JBOD disks apparently don’t need explicit / can’t accept explicit formatting with the LSISAS1068 controller.

Biggest red flag is that the O/S doesn’t seem to recognize the Device ID.

(site is a remote-deployed customer system so O/S upgrade is not a practical option).
