Nasty.
After some problems with binary/text ftp a long time ago, I got into the habit of ZIP'ing my BACKUP Save Sets before using FTP to transfer them.
Following the FTP transfer, use UNZIP's Test function to confirm integrity of the ZIP archive. The extra step ensures that no corruption has occured enroute.
