My employer got a VAX11/780 in 1980 which had AFAIR 1.5Mbyte.  A year or
two later they replaced the whole module with a 4Mbyte module - I saw
the 1.5Mbyte before it was taken away, it was the size of a 1980s era
microwave oven.
